Jordin Sparks in studio recording his 4 new songs

Check out some new songs from Jordin Sparks’ new album, Battlefield, due to drop July 21.

The songs, “Vertigo”, “Let it Rain” and “Faith” were produced by Toby Gad and Lindsey Robbins. She also talks about the pressure she puts on herself to lose weight.

Jay-Z reveals 'The Blueprint 3' release date

Jay-Z has revealed that his next studio album, 'The Blueprint 3', will be released on September 11, eight years after his first 'Blueprint' album was issued.

The release has been produced by Kanye West and will be the follow-up to the rapper's 2007 soundtrack album to the film 'American Gangster'.

The new release date was confirmed by MTV News.

Kanye West has also revealed that Jay-Z's eagerly-awaited 'The Blueprint 3' album will be the opposite of his own recent effort '808s And Heartbreak'.

West is producing the next installment in the Jay-Z's acclaimed 'Blueprint' series. But after releasing his own synth-heavy album, he told MTV News he is taking Jay-Z's project in a different direction.

"We actually removed all the songs with Autotune off his album to make the point that this is an anti-Autotune album," he said, "even though I released an album that has all Autotune. It doesn't matter to me. It's music, it's just sonics."

Jay-Z is releasing 'The Blueprint 3' later in the year through his new label Roc Nation, having left long term label Def Jam.

Usher & Akon Honor Young People In New York

Stars including Usher, Akon and rap mogul Russell Simmons were on hand to present special prizes to inspirational youngsters at the Do Something Awards in New York on Thursday night.

The ceremony at Manhattan's Apollo Theater honoured young people who have made outstanding contributions to society, and handed out community grants to those who deserved special recognition.

The recipients included a Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) sufferer, 15-year-old Darius Weems, who has made a documentary to highlight the plight of other children affected by the genetic disease.

The night's overall winner was named as Maggie Doyne, 22, who set up a school and orphanage in Nepal.

And Usher was delighted to be a part of the emotional tributes, telling MTV.com, "Raw power is truly in service. You can make a difference. Every time that you experience some sort of change, it took labour. It took physical time to make a change."

And Akon, who has set up his own charitable foundation, added, "My main thing is always about the kids at the end of the day. That's why we even started the Konfidence Foundation - to create a better environment for the kids. This right here is the blessing of it. These are the reasons why I am who I am."

Billy Crawford - Groove (Promotional use only)

Teen pop singer Billy Crawford was born May 16, 1982 in the Philippines. In addition to spending eight seasons as a regular on the Filipino variety show That's Entertainment, he also appeared in a series of movies before his family relocated to Texas in 1994. There Crawford continued his singing career, and after winning a Dallas talent show he traveled to New York to begin writing and recording material for his self-titled debut album, released in 1999 on V2.

Juelz Santana - Santana's Town

Over the past few years, the hip-hop game has watched Juelz Santana become one of its brightest stars, its biggest personalities, and its finest MCs. Whether solo or with his Diplomats brethren - Cam'ron, Jim Jones, JR Writer, etc - Juelz has begun to let us in on a little secret: the game's been missing something vital, and he's got it. A certain cooler-than-thou swagger, an attitude, the flash of a menacing snarl. "Human Crack In The Flesh," he calls it.

And now, with his second Def Jam effort, What The Game's Been Missing, the hip-hop nation is headed back to Santana's town, to rediscover Harlemworld's distinct style as only Juelz can bring it.

Born and raised LaRon James, young Juelz Santana began his journey like many Harlem teens: the new kid on the block. Talking nonsense, smirking to the girls, clowning the guys. "I was hanging in the streets, hustling, doing everything I wasn't supposed to be doing," explains Juelz. "But I knew I wanted to change my life and could do it with music." Laron James may have been the average Harlem teenager, but Juelz Santana was nice. Style for days, the sound of young Harlem incarnate.

At 15, Juelz put together the group Draft Pick with a neighborhood friend. The duo was picked up by Priority Records, but it wasn't long until Santana was introduced through his cousin to fellow Harlem rapper Cam'ron. "Cam didn't even know he was gonna meet me," Juelz remembers. "He was sleeping. So we wake him up and do the introductions and Cam tells me to spit for him and his reaction wasn't like it was hot.he was sleeping."
